Meteorites

A meteorite is a natural object from outer space that survives impact with the earth's surface. Size varies from small to huge.  They are made of either: rock, iron, or a mixture of the two.  Here's a photo of the biggest meteorite to have fallen on earth.  It weighs more than 50 tonnes and hit the ground about 80,000 years ago in Namibia, SW Africa. Thanks to www.gallery.hd.org for the photo and info.
