Vertebra from the Jurassic era, found in the Kimmeridge Clay, Weymouth, Dorset. Measurements are approx H 7 x W 7 x D 3-3.5 cm.
The Ichthyosaurs were large marine reptiles, not unlike a dolphin. Average length was 2 - 4 m. They lived from approx 24 - 90 million years ago.
