Double Ichthyosaur Vertebrae - Rare - 8 x 7 cm

This is an unusual piece - two vertebrae found fossilised together. Each vertebra measures approx: 8 x 7 x 2-2.5 cm deep. Both concave on both sides and good detail round the edges. From the Jurassic era and found in the Kimmeridge Clays, Weymouth, Dorset.
The Ichthyosaurs were large marine reptiles, not unlike a dolphin. Average length was 2 - 4 m. They lived from approx 24 - 90 million years ago.
