Hi - I am Mike Jeffries. I've been interested in fossils since, as a child in Brighton, I found a small chalk
fossil in the garden. That hooked me and I started to collect. This interest stayed with me as I grew up and has never
diminished.
I couldn't find anywhere to buy locally so decided to give it a try myself. I found a couple of wholesalers, bought
a few bits and sold them at car boot sales off my trusty wallpapering table! Over the years I progressed to a full-size
market stall and did markets, fairs and shows locally.
I then discovered the Rock n Gem Shows and sold at the Kempton Park and Brighton shows for many years before moving down
to Lyme Regis and taking on the shop in December 2004.
Since then I have refurbished the shop completely and filled it floor to ceiling with the best that I can find.
I love being my own boss selling specimens that fascinate me. Better than being a fabricator welder, which was my previous
job!
